I’m Stacy, an HR Senior Associate who believes that strong workplaces are built through clarity, compassion, and a whole lot of practical problem-solving. I spent more than a decade working in government, industrial construction, and mining, often in small or solo HR teams where learning fast and thinking critically were part of everyday life. I approach HR with a focus on ethics, clarity, and long-term impact, and I enjoy helping clients work through challenges that require sound judgment and thoughtful guidance.
My Story
Hi, I’m Stacy. My HR career started in the provincial government, and from there, I moved into the industrial construction and mining sector, where I stayed for almost ten years. Early in my career, I worked closely with Indigenous-owned organizations and senior leaders who gave me responsibilities that pushed me to grow quickly. Those experiences shaped how I understand leadership, community, and the role HR plays in bridging both.
At Hughes, I partner with clients who want to support their people but may not have the structure or resources to do it on their own. I help them navigate compliance, legislation, policy design, and complex HR decisions with honesty and clarity. I am known for my attention to detail, my love of a well-written policy, and my ability to dissect complicated situations in a way that feels manageable. My goal is always the same for people to feel supported, informed and confident after working with me.
Life outside of work is all about my husband, my son, and the friends who keep my weekends full of coffee runs and good conversation. I love a nice walk when the weather is behaving, and when it is not, you can find me in my home gym with the music blasting through a tough workout. I also appreciate quiet moments with a book, a true crime podcast, or a card game on my phone.
